PLEASE HELP WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST TO CORRECT ANSWER

What change would most likely decrease the competition for food among a chipmunk population in an ecosystem?
A. A rare epidemic among the chipmunks.
B. A decrease in the number of chipmunks killed by falling out of trees.
C. A decrease in the number of hawks that prey on chipmunks.
D. An increase in the chipmunk's reproduction rate.

IS IT C

Respuesta :

Yes, It is C because If there is a decrease in hawks, then there will be more chipmunks. :)
Competition would be the conflict between two populations who eat the same food/ use the same resources, so C would not be the answer. C is an example of Predation. I would say A, as an epidemic among chipmunks would decrease the size of the population. There would be less chipmunks in the population to compete for food.
