The Battle of the Bulge was the battle's name, and it took place from December 16, 1944 - Jan 25, 1945, with the German's pouring most of their military resources in reclaiming land in the west. After the initial success from the surprise attack, however, they were low on resources, and they had to retreat, leading to the end of the Reich.
