Okay so for this you will use the FOIL (first, outer, inner, last) method.

Step-by-step explanation:

So, first you take the x from (x-3) and multiply it by the x in (x-4).

So, now you have x^2

Then you do the outer which would be x multiplied by 4.

Now you have -4x.

Then you multiply the inner which is -3 times x.

Which is -3x.

Now its the last which is -3 times -4 which equals 12.  

Now you put them in order:


x^2 - 4x - 3x + 12

Lastly, you combine like terms:

x^2 -1 + 12
