*Can someone help me design this experiment. I just need help with the outline *

There are 15 species of snapping shrimp in the Atlantic Ocean and 15 species of snapping shrimp in the Pacific Ocean. Some of the species live in shallow water while others live in deeper water. The Atlantic and Pacific oceans are separated by the Isthmus of Panama. Geological evidence shows that the Isthmus of Panama started rising about 10 million years ago, completely separating the two oceans by about three million years ago.

Design a plan for collecting the data that you would need to determine whether reproductive isolation has led to speciation.

Answer:

A plan possible would be one that present an scenario of a chosen habitat as shallow waters (or deep waters), collecting defined groups of snapping shrimps from the Atlantic ocean, and an equivalent of groups from the Atlantic oceans, that live in that specific habitat.  The idea then would be to monitor if both groups can interact and interbreed producing  new mixed progeny in an artificial shallow waters habitat (or deeper waters habitat)

Explanation:

A species is defined as a group of organisms of a same type that are physically similar and live and share habitat and behaviours, and that are able to interbreed and produce progeny.

If shallow waters organisms, in this case, snapping shrimps, from Atlantic ocean, can interact and interbreed with those from Pacific ocean

Of course it's necessary to identify the test snapping shrimps from the groups to be able to have data of some kind
