Read these lines from Rupert Brooke’s “The Soldier.”
“A body of England’s, breathing English air,/Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of
home.”
Which of these can be found in this excerpt?

parallelism
repetition
an epiphany
an allusion

Respuesta :

I don't see there any hidden reference which could make me claim that it is an allusion, also it's not an epiphany because it is frequently used for showing to readers that character has suddenly realized something so that he starts to perceive the world from the new sheet. Parallelism you can recognize when each clause has the same meaning and repetition is repeating of one word that appears in some lines and can emphasise some author’s point. It's up to you, but I would say that it's a repetition.

The literary device that can be found in the excerpt is "Repetition" (Option B).

What is Repetition?

Repetition in literature is used to emphasize an idea or a concept.

In the lines above, England is repeated in a subtle way when the writing mentions English again.

This is a way to emphasize the location being written about.
