Automobiles that were affordable to American citizens helped them become more independent and mobile. Before cars, many people were biking or walking, which made it so they could not travel far distances. With the making of automobiles, people could now travel easily from one place to another. With some cars being affordable as well, this made it so even American citizens with lower incomes could invest in a vehicle.
