5x - 10 = 3x + 2
5x = 3x + 12
2x = 12
x = 6

5x - 10 = 3x + 2
Subtract 3x over to 5x
Add 10 over to 2
2x = 12
Divide both sides by 2 to get x by itself
x = 6
