What does Truman mean when he claims, “Should we fail to aid Greece and Turkey in this fateful hour, the effect will be far reaching to the West as well as to the East”?
That if the US wouldn't help Greece and Turkey they would fall to the USSR and communism and it would hurt the eastern world (East Europe and Asia) as well as the western world (West Europe and North America).
I believe it means that if the U.S. don’t help the Greece and Turkey in this bad time, It would hurt them and they would end up in the hands of communism.
