to find 30 percent of 80, first you have to divide 80 by 100.  
you get the number 0.8.  
that means that 0.8 is 1 percent of 80.  
so, to get 30% of 80, you have to multuply 0.8 by 30 which is 24.  

30% of 80 is 24. 
trun 30% to decimal .30 now multiply .3 * 80 =24 so 24 is 30% of 80
