I believe its denature, but im not 100% positive. Denature is where a protein looses its structure from it original form because of external stress like an acid or base (Ph) or heat

Answer:

Proteins may get inactive or denatured due to change in temperature and pH

Explanation:

- Enzymes are proteins and they function in a narrow range of temperature.

- Every enzyme show its highest activity at a certain range of temperature which is called optimum temperature.

- At very low temperatures the enzyme becomes inactive and at very high temperature the protein gets denatured due to breakage of hydrogen bonds that maintains the tertiary structure of the protein.

- During denaturation the tertiary structure of protein is brought back to primary structure.

- Similarly proteins as enzyme has an optimum pH where the activity is maximum.

- Some act best in basic medium whereas some act best in acidic medium.

- Rise or fall in pH may alter the protein structure and there by the enzyme activity.
