They both contain four different bases to function in the form of a code, They also are both built of nucleotides, structures consisting of one nucleobase, a sugar (ribose or deoxyribose respectively) and a phosphate group.
DNA and RNA are made up of monomers called nucleotides and they both have 3 nitrogenous bases: Adenine, Cytosine and Guanine.
