Scientific Notation :
Example :
[tex]4.5 \times {10}^{3} [/tex]
The exponent is 3 in this case and is positive meaning the zeros will follow after the 5 in 4.5 and not before that like this,
[tex]45000[/tex]
If it was negative then the zeros would follow before the 4 in 4.5 like this,
[tex]0.0045[/tex]
[tex]4.5 \times {10}^{3} [/tex]
The picture shows how it is done!!
Just do the loops around the number and put and egg inside of it like a cup.
That's all!!
-------------------------------------------------
Exponents :
[tex] {9}^{2} [/tex]
Or 9^2 is titled 9 to the power of 2.
You do NOT do this...
[tex]9 \times 2[/tex]
You do,
[tex]9 \times 9[/tex]
And if to the power of 5 then it'll be,
[tex]9 \times 9 \times 9 \times 9 \times 9[/tex]
That's all!!
