Add 1/2 to both sides
a-1/2+1/2=a
3/5+1/2~Find LCD which is 5*2=10
Now we have to adjust the fractions. 3*2/10+1*5/10
Put them together: 3*2+1*5/10
Using PEMDAS we do 2*3=6
1*5=5
6+5=11
Now our numerator is 11 and our denominator is 10 which makes 11/10.
To check: (plug in the numbers) 11/10-1/2=3/5
11/10-1/2 does equal 3/5 (I can explain how I know this)
11/10=1.1
1/2=0.5
1.1-0.5=0.6
AND 3/5=0.6
